Stepping Stones Therapeutic Solutions of Georgia was established in May 2019. We are a Georgia contracted service provider for the Department of Family and Children Services. We put our clients at the center of what we do and strive to make an affirmative difference in the lives of the individuals and families we serve.
We have been treating our clients like family and offering quality therapeutic services since our foundation. We have a solid team with a wealth of experience who are ready to collaborate with you utilizing the latest in research-based interventions to foster a better community that starts with you!

Janet Flounory, CEO of Stepping Stones Therapeutic Solutions of Georgia (SSTSOG), was founded in May 2019 with a clear and purposeful vision. From an early age, Janet Flounory demonstrated a deep passion for serving others. As the daughter of a pastor and a mother who worked as an adoption specialist with the Department of Family and Children Services, a career in social services was not only natural — it was a calling.
After graduating from high school, Janet earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Her professional journey led her to further pursue a Master’s degree in Special Education and a Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction. For more than a decade, she served in the field of education, working closely with exceptional learners and their families. During this time, she empowered children to build confidence in their abilities and partnered with parents to better understand and support their children’s educational growth. She celebrated milestones alongside families and helped students advance to their next levels of success.
While education provided meaningful opportunities to serve, Janet recognized a recurring and deeper need: proactive mental health intervention. Motivated by this realization, she pursued a Master’s degree in Human Services Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. Upon completion, she became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Georgia.
This transition allowed Janet to work with individuals and families beyond the classroom—addressing challenges at their root and providing strategic, therapeutic interventions. Her approach helps clients transform life’s difficulties into stepping stones toward healing, growth, and a brighter future.
Janet possesses an extraordinary ability to inspire hope and cultivate resilience, even in the face of overwhelming obstacles. Guided by her faith and this God-given gift, she established SSTSOG with the mission of helping individuals, families, and communities turn challenges into life-enhancing opportunities.
